Hi friends, Julie Cross here. Just sitting outside before I go in to present today to a group from the childcare industry, and was just driving in, and reflecting how grateful I feel to do what I do. You know, this week doing five presentations with Auto and General a fabulous organization that I connected with recently through the Future of Leadership series.
Thank you Peter Banes and Darrin Hill for believing in me. You know the child care industry has been so wonderful to me. I’ve had some great events with them over the last five to seven years. And I just, with everything that you go through in life I promise you that if you are in a tough time right now that you do get to the other side and you get to look back, you know, and I wouldn’t change a thing in the end. Maybe one less kicked in wall or window would have been nice. But in the end it’s made me who I am and it’s attracted the people in my life I’ve got today.
And I just feel so grateful and sometimes, sometimes it’s gratitude that rolls out of your eyes, down your cheeks and not sadness. Sometimes it’s gratitude that you went through all of that so you could get to here. And there will be times, there was times I couldn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. And so I literally wore the light. I wore it to show me that the light can be there and that, that it will be alright and you will get through it and you’ll grow into who you need to be to take onto the next stage.
So, you just can’t lose hope and your sense of humor. And I think when I look back as to what got me through the worst of times that I can now do the best of times was staying connected with that hope. Staying in the moment, just doing the moment, knowing that all you ever have to do is get through the moment you’ve got. And there will be a brand new moment waiting for you. And sometimes the moment will be sad, sometimes it will be challenging, but then there will be a moment of joy or happiness. Allow yourself to do those moments of joy and happiness.
Don’t stop yourself from doing that because then you get more moments of joy and they string together and suddenly life looks so much brighter. And you look around and you go oh who do I think I am. How do I get to enjoy these views and work with these amazing people and have such an amazing outpouring of support and love from the people around me.
And that’s all of you. So, thank you for being on this journey with me and I do feel so very grateful for what I do and for who I do it with. I feel very honored and humbled to have you all in my life.
