Thomas said to me a couple of months ago…
‘Well, they have told me that I won’t need my support worker at Coffee Club for much longer!’
I say, ‘Thomas that is great news, you are doing such a good job’
He says, ‘Yep, so I guess I won’t be Autistic any more!’
And I nod and smile ? and look forward to the day when we don’t need to ‘label’ anybody because we just accept everybody is different… but in the meantime he can wear the label with pride!
